registration procedure
Private lessons may begin at any time of the year. There are some instruments that are taught daily, but others only one or two days a week. Students and parents/guardians have the opportunity to speak with our staff to discuss which instrument(s) to study and the type of instruction that might be most appropriate. If you are enrolling a student who is at an intermediate or advanced level, we may ask you to speak with the Department Lead Faculty to assign the appropriate instructor. Group lessons generally begin at the beginning of a semester, either in September or February. We are happy to add your name to a waiting list at other times of the year.
Three easy ways to register:
By Mail: Send a completed registration form with required fee and deposit to CMS. By Phone: Call the Business Office at 860-767-0026 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. In Person: Visit CMS at 90 Main Street, Centerbrook to complete the process.
Scheduling - Placement of newly registered students is based upon teacher availability and student interests. To help us better accommodate your schedule, please be provide preferred days/times on the registration form.
