Steve Roane

Guitar, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer, beginning cello

Steve RoaneMadison resident and father of a 23-year-old daughter and a 26-year-old son, Stephen is an active performer both locally and nationally. He studied with guitarist Richard Davis and with the BMI Composer’s Workshop.

Having just finished his 16th album, Steve has recorded and/or performed with numerous artists including Sir Roland Hanna, Eddie Bert, Frank Strozier, John and Bucky Pizzarelli, Diane Schurr, Richard Shindell, Helen O’Connell, Jim Dawson, Sal Savador, Andy Statman, Russ Barenberg, Matt Glaser, John Lewis, Joe Beck, Joe Puma, Herb Ellis, Al Farlow, Gary Smulyan, Gary Chester, Andy LaVerne and Gary Dial. He has written over 300 songs and compositions.

Presently teaching all styles of guitar and bass as well as cello, ukulele, mandolin, 4- and 5-string banjo, and dulcimer, Stephen also teaches composition and arranging for any instrument and level of student. For the beginning student or the advanced, Stephen offers a fun and fulfilling teaching style. In the past, he has taught at the Westchester Conservatory of Music, Pace University, Mercy College, and as a clinician at the Berklee School of Music.

In addition to his musical talents, Steve is also an accomplished visual artist, well-known for the beautiful Southern Connecticut landscapes he paints.
