Since we opened our doors in 1983, Community Musical School has been committed to the mission of enriching our community with music. The quality of music education we provide, at the highest level, is enhanced by the donations we continually receive from our students and families, our many friends, both individuals and businesses, all of whom share our vision for a healthy, growing and vibrant school. FRIENDS OF NOTE: CMS'S ANNUAL FUND – Donations to the annual fund support every aspect of our programming, from sheet music for ensembles to community recitals and concerts, and help us to provide musical opportunities to persons of all ages and abilities. GIFTS TO THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND – Each year, we give approximately $15,000 in financial assistance to students of all ages. You can contribute to this fund at any time during the year or donate to one of our fundraising events, so that scholarships continue to be there for students in need.

MATCHING GIFTS - Matching gifts from your employer provide a chance to double or even triple the impact of your contribution to CMS. If your company has a matching gift program, please visit your human resource department for more information.
GIFTS TO THE CAPITAL ENDOWMENT FUND- CMS will expand with your help. Last year we purchased another unit at Spencer’s Corner, giving us an additional 2,000 square feet for a digital piano lab, more studios, and a newly-designed activity room. Your gifts to this fund will be earmarked for future expansion and equipment.
GIFTS OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS- If you donate an instrument to CMS, it may be passed on to a student in need of an instrument, kept at the school as a loaner instrument or sold to buyers. Donated instruments should be in good, playable condition. We are happy to accept violins in any condition, as we have someone to restore them. We would be honored to receive a concert grand piano or a high-quality baby grand. Due to limited space, we don’t normally accept other pianos, although we will try to match a donor with a student in need of one. Please speak with our Director if you have an instrument that you wish to donate.
