Christine Coyle

A native of New York, Cellist Christine Coyle, is a respected performer and experienced teacher of music known across the northeastern United States. Under the tutelage of Marion Feldmann, Ms.Coyle earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The Manhattan School of Music. During her course of study, she was privileged to participate in master classes given by some of the preeminent teachers and virtuosos of our time, including Aldo Parisot, Itzhak Perlman, Yo Yo Ma, Burton Kaplan, Shlomo Mintz and with members of both the American and Tokyo String Quartets.
Today Ms. Coyle is a long-tenured member of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra and the Hudson Valley Philharmonic. She performs frequently with Orchestra New England and has participated in numerous productions at the Goodspeed Opera House. She is a founding member of both the Amaryllis Ensemble and the Taghkanic String Quartet. She also performed and recorded as a member of the New York City- based Ambrosia Trio.
Ms. Coyle believes in developing solid bow and left hand technique to enable refined artistic expression. Her past teaching experience includes time spent as a member of the faculties of Rutgers Preparatory School and the Bethwood Suzuki School. She teaches traditional as well as Suzuki method and is Suzuki- certified. In addition to teaching at Community Music School, she is also a member of the cello faculty at the Thames Valley Music School in New London and currently serves as the Conductor of the Thames Valley Junior and Advanced String Orchestras.
Besides music, Chris has other interests, too -- traveling anywhere, sports of all kinds and gardening!
