Did you know....
Since you don't have to commit to a fixed number of lessons during the summer, and there's no registration fee, it's a great time to try a few lessons to see if your child is ready and truly interested! We can even arrange times for your child to practice on our pianos if you don't own one.

Recitals don’t have
to be scary!
Students are encouraged
but not required to perform in
at least two recitals each
year. End-of-term recitals
are held in January and June
at various community venues
such as local churches, the Chester Meeting
House, and Community Music School
itself. Each teacher presents
his or her own recital — we
don’t have all 400 private students perform on the same program. Each May, faculty and
students hold an exciting Community Music School Showcase performance. Intermediate
and advanced students are invited
to perform at mid-semester recitals in November and April
at Essex Meadows.
Special workshops, seminars, guest artists, and class series
are offered throughout the
year, open to both students
and the general public. We
often have free tickets to local concerts available to our
students. Past offerings have included an annual round-robin style Piano Workshop, a Vocal Workshop for choral singers,
the very popular Drum Day, Computers and Music
programs, Violin Care
instruction, and demonstra-
tions by area musicians.

Private instruction continues during the summer, working around
vacation schedules for students and teachers.
Summer’s also the time for
special programs. We try to
offer something for everyone!
If you have the theater in your blood, you’ll love our intensive theater
workshop called
Broadway Bound. Younger
kids will enjoy coming to Kindermusik “summer camps”, with special themes
for summertime fun.
